How it started

I drove for a living. Rideshare on the weekends, deliveries when it was slow, and my own running-around in between — the kind of driving where the car basically isthe job. And every week the same thing gnawed at me: I had no real idea what all that driving was actually costing me. I'd fill the tank, watch the pump spin, and only then do the math — always too late to do anything about it.

One night I finished a long shift, added up my fares, and couldn't tell you how much of it the gas had quietly eaten. Tax season made it worse — I knew I could deduct my miles, but I'd never kept a real log, so I left money on the table two years running. So I went looking for an app that would just showme: the cost climbing as I drove, and a clean mileage log kept for me automatically. Every app I tried did the same thing — told me how far I'd gone, after the money was gone. A rear-view mirror. Nobody had built the windshield.

So I built it. LiveGasCost shows the real dollars leaving your tank live, mile by mile— the way a taxi meter makes a fare impossible to ignore — and it keeps the IRS-ready log for you, so tax time is already done. It's the app I wanted on those late drives home. I built it for everyone who feels every mile.
