Fuel prices are EIA US regular average — $4.08/gal for the week of Aug 24, 2026 — and the five regional figures above are the EIA's own weekly series for the same week. The worked example further down is priced at EIA Midwest (PADD 2) regular average, $3.93/gal, because it is a Madison drive. All of it is refreshed weekly from the EIA's own series. Distances come from real roads on our own routing server, not straight lines. MPG comes from the EPA's published ratings for the exact car you drive.

Questions, answered
How accurate is the MPG?
Vehicle MPG comes from the official EPA fuel-economy database — 24,685 vehicles back to 1984. Heavy-duty trucks the EPA doesn't rate (192 of them, mostly 2500/3500 pickups) use clearly-labeled real-world estimates, and you can always enter your own number if you know your true average.
Can I track multiple vehicles?
Yes. Save each vehicle to your garage with its own year, make, model, fuel type, and MPG, then switch between them with one tap on the Track screen. Diesel vehicles automatically use diesel prices.
Are the gas prices real-time?
Prices are official EIA regional averages, refreshed as you drive. You can override with your exact pump price anytime.
Does it work offline?
Trip tracking does — GPS needs no connection, and a manual price override keeps cost math running without signal. Live price lookups resume when you're back online; nothing is lost in between.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Your drives, routes, and history live on your phone — there's no account to make, no server holding them, and nothing sold to anyone.
What vehicles does it support?
Any car, truck, or diesel in the EPA database (24,685 vehicles back to 1984), plus manual entry if yours isn't listed or you want to use your own MPG.
